Day 1 : Nairobi-Maasai Mara National Reserve.
Depart Nairobi in the Morning for masai mara passing through the dramatic Great Rift Valley stopping at the view point, Ascend the western rim of the valley crossing the loita plains (maasai-land),see red-clad maasai warriors tend their multi-colored herds amongst plains game. Game viewing enroute to lodge for lunch. Afternoon game drive inside the most scenic park in Kenya where great concentration of game is seen including the “Big Five”. Dinner and overnight at mara sopa lodge.
Day 2 : Maasai mara National Reserve.
Morning and afternoon game viewing inside the Park. Search for wild game black manned lion for which Mara is famous for, cheetah, buffalo, wildebeest, zebra, leopard, grants gazelle are quite common, even the rare rhino might come out of the thicket for you, hyenas are plentiful, Extend your drive to the hippo point where schools of hippo submerge on the approach of vehicles only to surface seconds later to shot and gamble their displeasure as the crocodiles sunbathe on the river banks mouths agape. Between meals there is optional visit to the maasai villages for an insight to their culture if clients so wish. Meals and overnight at Mara Sopa Lodge. Optional Balloon ride.
Day 3 : Maasai Mara-Lake Nakuru National Park
Early morning (before breakfast) game viewing drive at maasai Mara in search of any wild game you might have missed previously. Return to lodge for breakfast and afterwards depart for Lake Nakuru arriving in time for lunch. Lake Nakuru is referred as pink lake for it’s thousands of pink flamingos and other bird life-it’s a bird watchers paradise. It has a surprisingly number of animals, it is a rhino sanctuary and the “Big Five” except the elephant can be seen here, afternoon game drive .Dinner and overnight at Lake Nakuru Lodge.
Day 4 : Lake Nakuru -Nairobi.
Early morning game drive in the lake. Breakfast and depart for Nairobi arriving at around 1200 hours.Afternoon visit the giraffe centre, Karen Blixen museum,dinner at the carnivore restaurant overnight at a Nairobi hotel
Day 5 : – Arrival – Volcanoes NP km 130, 3 hrs, mostly tar
Meet in the morning on arrival at the airport. Visit the Genocide Mausoleum. Lunch in town. Follow the road as it climbs to the base of the majestic volcanoes, with spectacular views across the five peaks. Continue toward Volcanoes NP.
Day 6 : – Mountain Gorillas km 70, 2 hrs tar murram
As the first light of dawn breaks through the curtain of mist clinging to the summits of Karisimbi, Bisoke, Sabyinyo, Gahinga and Muhabura, we make our way into the Volcanoes National Park. Tracking the gorillas through the unique vegetation can take several hours of challenging walking in wet and muddy conditions. To see a gorilla, the trek will have been worth the hardship. .
Day 7 : – Mountain Gorillas – Lake Kivu km 100, 2 hrs, mostly tar
Trek a second time the mountain gorilla. After lunch at your hotel, continue toward Rubavu, a nice small town, located on the northern shore of lake Kivu.
Day 8 : – Lake Kivu – Kigali – Departure km 175, 31/2 hrs tar
Enjoy during the early morning hours the peaceful atmosphere of the calm and pristine waters of Africa’s highest lake. Return to Kigali. Lunch and airport transfer for your flight back to Nairobi.
